Father & Son campout

Apparently church rules prohibit the use of trailers for ward campouts. Or atleast its my ward's rule. So we did the next best thing and utilized the roominess of our Honda Pilot. We were scorned by other ward members for not setting up a tent, but I think they were just jealous. Also, two years ago, there was a kid dragged off by a bear and killed at this campground. We camped at Blackhawk Campround up Payson canyon. It is just three miles north of Payson Lakes Campround. So I felt alot safer in the car. Luke enjoyed playing on the logs, but as you could see, would not smile for a good shot.

No tent trailers.....that's a crazy rule. Actually that looks cozy to sleep in the back of a vehicle! Looks like fun.

I hate when people get all weird about how you go camping. Especially if there was a bear attack before. The focus of these campouts is not the manner of peoples sleep, it's the games and camaraderie and such, being out there with the boys, fathers and sons. Anyway, It looks like you had a fun time. Camping is always fun. Hope you ate lots of roasted mallows.

Our ward doesn't do "Father-Son campouts" here in Moab. They say there is no time. Thus far, there have been no weekend actitivies this May, so I'm not sure what they're talking about.

The ultimate irony...moving to Moab and the people here say they are too busy to camp.
